Brain Surgery

Peripheral Nerves
Your peripheral nervous system sends information from the central nervous system to the rest of your body. Peripheral neuropathy is a result of damage to your peripheral nerves. It often causes weakness, numbness and pain, usually in your hands and feet.
Causes of peripheral neuropathy include: Infections, metabolic problems, inherited causes, result from a traumatic injury and exposure to toxins. One of the most common causes is diabetes mellitus. Pain caused by peripheral neuropathy is often described as stabbing, burning or tingling. Surgeries include:
- Neuroplasty of median nerve at Carpal Tunnel
- Neuroplasty and/or transposition of the Ulnar Nerve (at wrist or elbow)

An estimated 62 million CT scans are performed annually in the United States to diagnose conditions of the neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, cardiac system and sinus and temporal bones.
