Dr. Jeremy Hosein is from Papillion, Nebraska. He graduated from New York University and attended medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Hosein completed Neurosurgery residency at the University of Colorado with experience in degenerative spine and peripheral nerve disease, brain and spine cancers, pituitary tumors, and traumatic brain and spine injury. Dr. Hosein also has extensive policy experience in health care which has led him to believe that care for patients begins before they step into his office. He served in the administration of two Nebraska governors and was appointed by the President as a health advisor in the White House and to the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services. His wife, Dawn, is a hospitalist and they have two children.
Dr. Gogela is Board Certified and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, MO. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine with High Distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine (UNMC) in Omaha. He finished residency in June 2017 with the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. Throughout his education, Dr. Gogela has held various offices, received numerous academic honors and scholarships and contributed to a number of medical journals and publications. Dr Gogela is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and Ohio State Neurosurgical Society (OHSNS). Dr. Gogela was born in Beatrice. He and wife Kate, who is a pediatrician, have three sons and a daughter.
Dr. Livingston is Board Certified and specializes in surgery of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves, including minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Livingston graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from Chadron State College (CSC). While at CSC he was a participant in the Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP). Dr. Livingston went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine (UNMC) in Omaha. Dr. Livingston completed a general surgery internship and his residency training in neurological surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. Dr. Livingston is a member of American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS). He has received various honors including the Avicenna Award in Neuroscience and the Kenneth Brown Award in Neurological Surgery from UNMC in 2007. In addition, Dr. Livingston has contributed to numerous publications in the areas of neuro and spinal surgery.
Dr. Diamant earned his Bachelor’s degree, Magna Cum Laude, at the University at Albany, State University of New York. He went on to receive his medical degree at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse. Dr. Diamant completed an internal medicine internship at the SUNY Health Science Center, at Syracuse in 1990. He completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center/Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Chicago, Illinois in 1994. Additionally, Dr. Diamant went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Pain Medicine from the University of Newcastle, Australia in 2003. Dr. Diamant is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. He is sub-specialty board certified in Pain Medicine. His hospital affiliations include Bryan Health, CHI St. Elizabeth, and Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals. Dr. Diamant joined Neurological and Spinal Surgery in 2000. He is skilled in treating patients with occupational and traumatic injuries, as well as non traumatic and degenerative conditions affecting the spine, in addition to neurological disorders such as headache, spasticity and neuropathy. Dr. Diamant is proficient in performing fluoroscopically guided spinal injections, lumbar provocation discography, radiofrequency neurotomy, electrodiagnostic testing (EMG/NCS), botulinum toxin injections for the treatment of migraine headaches, spasticity and dystonia. Additionally he performs phenol neurolysis for the treatment of spasticity; prolotherapy and neural prolotherapy for the treatment of soft tissue based pain.
Dr. Eric Pierson is a Board Certified Neurosurgeon who specializes in surgery of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves. He was born in Grand Island, NE in 1948, and graduated from Neligh High School in 1966. Dr. Pierson did a pre-med program from 1966-1969 at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He received his MD degree from Columbia University in New York City from 1969-1973. Dr. Pierson completed a general surgery internship at the University of Minnesota from 1973-1974 and his neurosurgery residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN from 1974-1978. Dr. Pierson has been certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery since 1980 and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has practiced in Lincoln from 1978 to present. His medical staff affiliations include Bryan Medical Center, St. Elizabeth Hospital and Nebraska Surgery Center.
Dr. Gelber specializes in surgery of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves at Neurological and Spinal Surgery, LLC. He is also a certified specialist in Gamma Knife Radiosurgery. Dr. Gelber earned his Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He went on to receive his medical degree from S.U.N.Y. Upstate Medical Center College of Medicine in New York. Dr. Gelber completed a straight surgery internship at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. He completed a residency in general surgery at S.U.N.Y. Upstate Medical College and a residency in neurosurgery at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Gelber earned a Master of Science degree in neurosurgery at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Gelber is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. His hospital affiliations include Bryan Medical Center, St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Nebraska Surgery Center, and Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital. Dr. Gelber has also held the following appointments at Bryan Medical Center: Chairman, Quality Assurance Committee; Chief of Surgery; Chairman of the Division of Neurosurgery and Vice Chief of Surgery. Dr. Gelber has practiced neurological surgery in Lincoln since 1979. He specializes in surgery of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves with special interest in brain tumors, cerebrovascular and trauma surgery. Dr. Gelber is trained in Gamma Knife Radiosurgery and Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson’s Disease.
Dr. Hawkins is from Gretna, Nebraska and received his Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in biochemistry from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He attended medical school in Denver, Colorado at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to complete his residency in neurosurgery with Advocate Healthcare and A.T. Still University based in Normal, Illinois. He also completed an additional fellowship in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery at Baptist Health in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr Hawkins has received numerous awards throughout his education and training. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and College of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), including the Joint Cerebrovascular Section, as well as the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery (SNIS) and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS). In addition, Dr. Hawkins has contributed to a number of medical journals and publications.
